UPDATE 9/16/2020
Dear Church Family,
At the present time and at least through October 1st, we are still under a governor’s mandate of safer at home, six-foot distancing, and wearing of masks. At East Highland Baptist Church, we are still having services on campus on Sunday morning and Wednesday night. Masks are recommended but not required, and we are still practicing social distancing by seating. As a result, we are still not having small groups in our classrooms (Sunday School or Discipleship Training), or doing activities where we cannot exercise social distancing. However, many of you are doing online classes—and your literature is in the church narthex for you to come by and pick up. This includes various magazines and devotionals many of you use.
We have resumed Children’s Worship in the Fellowship Hall during worship service at 10:30am. We have also resumed Wednesday morning Prayer Meeting/Bible Study at 10:00am. Youth Bible Study on Wednesday Evenings at 6:30 is also resuming. We are also beginning AWANA starting at 5 and ending at 6:30pm. It will be done in a different format to permit distancing and with less children in any one space.
Finally, thank you for being faithful in your giving and serving. Our church is blessed to have so many faithful members doing what they can in these difficult, and most unique days. Praying for you.
Bro. Wally
Phase 1 re-opening procedures:
- We will continue to provide online live streaming of services on Facebook and YouTube. These will be available for anyone who is uncomfortable with meeting in-person.

- There will be no nursery during services.
- Attendees are encouraged to wear surgical style masks. We will have some masks available at the door.
- We will abide by the Social Distancing rules.
- Families will enter the building when directed by an usher at front door and proceed as directed by additional ushers to a setting area.
- Families should sit together, including children and youth.
- You will be directed to your seat by an usher who will maintain social distancing with you and the next family group seated.
- We will only use the front door next to the sanctuary.
- When service is finished, we will dismiss by rows as directed. Families should exit the building when dismissed. Please maintain social distancing in the parking lot.
- The restrooms will be open, but we ask that their use be avoided if possible.
- The water fountains will not be available for use during this time.
- Offerings will be collected in boxes prior to entering the sanctuary.
